The School of Performing Arts (SOPA) is a five month training course designed for those who are currently performing artists, or who are interested in the performing arts. This school's main form of performances includes dance, drama, and mime. The school focuses on how the arts can be used to evangelize and reach the lost. Our God is the Ultimate Creator, and we believe that He has given His children the skills and talents needed to create and glorify Him through the arts.
Purpose:
- Raise up performing artists to use their talents to glorify the Lord
- Learn how to maintain a Godly character in the challenging world of performing arts
- Be challenged to create Godly pieces that can be used to share His heart with the nations
- Gain a Biblical perspective of the arts
Course Content:
- Biblical Foundations/Worldview of the Arts
- Mime, Drama, and Dance—various forms including several specific cultural forms
- Character of an Artist
- Redemption of the Arts
- Various practical topics including public speaking and songwriting
- Arts as Evangelism
